I recently added a map of approximate =SA= member locations on the Portal (front page). As the map illustrates, we have many Euro members O:

One question I have is about color coding of thread topics.

Default color (blue) should be used for normal threads...
is Yellow for tutorials/information/reference?

Green for active something (tournament, for example). Also means accepted app.
Red means closed (tournament) or declined/cancelled app.

What should cyan (light blue) be? And all the other colors.

I moved the map, removed the ChatBox (no one ever uses it, it seems), added a Shoutbox (messages will stay, unlike the old ChatBox), added a new GMT clock (the old one stopped showing up for me), and added a poll.

Feedback?

Poll takes you off-site. Either change that or have it open in a pop-up/tab. Chatbox sucks in general.

Added an IRC widget, as requested. Awesome idea, Faron.

I also found a better poll widget, thanks again Faron for feedback.

Funnily, the poll is asking what we should do about the shoutbox.

I moved things around too.

Portal is looking good! One thing I would suggest is to replace the 'latest topics' widget with one that doesn't scroll. It's kind of annoying to have to wait for it as it goes down the list. No biggie though Smile

The purpose of the GMT clock is to give us GMT +0 time. However, when I selected "Greenwich" clock, it literally gave me the clock for the city Greenwich, which has daylight savings. So, they are actually GMT +1 for half the year, which is not what we want.

Instead, I found a city in Ghana (Africa) where they are in GMT +0 and don't have daylight savings. Then I got rid of the city label. YAY!

I love the IRC chat idea, useful for irc noobs.

I like the maps, luckily it doesnt track ip's and shows it all Very Happy

I'll see what I can do.

Personally, I subscribe to the forum and I get an email whenever a post is made. They all go through a filter into a special folder I have, so they don't clog my inbox.

EDIT: It's on the portal now, but it seems like it only gives feeds with the permission of a "guest", not even a visitor >.>
Which means you can get updates on changes in the roster or rules. Lol.

Btw, if you want to see what posts or topics a certain user has made, go to the user's forum profile, click statistics, and then view.....
